Sending large photos & files

“You can never have enough photos of great products and happy customers!” – Everyone

Now that the average digital camera creates photo files up to 4mb in size, it is very difficult to transfer multiple photos by email. If you have a number of photos to send through to central office, we recommend you use ‘Dropbox’.  Dropbox is a virtual ‘store and share’ utility that enables you to make your photos accessible from any online device, and to anyone else invited by you to share them. For Solve’s purposes, it means copying your photos into a Dropbox folder and inviting Sue to ‘share’ it.  Sue can then save the photos to our server and database.

Use the following instructions to install and begin using Dropbox on your PC:

  1. Select Download Dropbox from and click on ‘run
  2. Click ‘Yes’ to accept the User Account Control settings dialog
  3. Follow the setup instructions until the install is completed. This creates a Dropbox folder on your PC.
  4. Access the Dropbox folder by clicking on the Dropbox icon on your desktop.
  5. Create a new subfolder within the dropbox folder and name it something relevant (ie. ‘Solve photos’ or a project number)
  6. Copy your photos into the new subfolder
  7. When you have finished copying the photos, right click on the subfolder and select ‘Share this folder
  8. This will open the Dropbox website and display your subfolder and its contents. Click on the icon located alongside the subfolder name.
  9. In the field ‘invite more people’, enter This will send an invitation to Sue at Central Office to view the photos in the folder, and allow her to copy them to our server.
