As we wrap up a very active and exciting 2019, we recognise the 147 active state-wide volunteers who have generously given their time and expertise to support Solve, and Victorians living with disability.
The theme of Solve’s 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Volunteer Branch Day was – An Active Life.
This year we recognised and honoured our remarkable volunteers who contribute to Solve’s service delivery, helping people with disability, and older Australians to lead an active life.
At this year’s event – held at the Box Hill RSL – Solve presented service awards to volunteers for up to an incredible 30 years of service (service award recipients listed below).
To recognise volunteers and projects that best exemplify the three pillars of Solve’s service – innovation, value and quality – volunteers and projects were nominated in three categories. Additionally, a volunteer from the Freedom Wheels technical team was recognised for playing an integral role in supporting the Freedom Wheels bike service, and supporting people with disability of all ages to have a chance to safely ride a bike.
The 2019 Volunteer Award winners:
Annually, Solve selects one volunteers to receive the Ern & Les Rothschild Volunteer Award – an award recognising a Solve volunteer who has demonstrated a significant commitment to Solve and our customers through their volunteer work, and displaying personal qualities of humility, flexibility and reliability.
2019 Ern & Les Rothschild Volunteer Award recipient:
Volunteering provides opportunities for people to impact their own lives and play a constructive role in their communities by volunteering their time and skills. Through volunteerism, communities around the world often experience strengthened solidarity and inclusion. Solve is proud to support and provide a variety of volunteer opportunities to a diverse population of skilled and dedicated volunteers across Victoria.
Let’s hear it for our volunteers!
We thank all of our volunteers, and congratulate the award nominees and recipients for their incredible contribution to Solve, and people with disability.
